Rufa Mae Quinto is go, go, going for the action!
The Philippines' "Comedy Princess" has been making rounds on social media after she starred in an advertisement parodying some scenes in Netflix's new South Korean crime action film Kill Boksoon.
The film stars Jeon Do-yeon as as a woman named Gil Boksoon, a top-ranked contract killer who boasts an impeccable kill record. She balances this with being a single mother to her adolescent teen daughter Gil Jae-young, who has no idea of her job as a killer. Things get complicated when she breaks her agency’s rules and consequently puts a target on her own back.
To promote the action-packed assassin movie, Netflix made a parody advertisement that has Rufa donning Boksoon's red velvet suit and pants and uttering her iconic lines from both real life and her film projects.
The trailer sees her shopping for groceries at a supermarket, where her attention was caught by a 70% sale on fish sauce. When she was about to check out a cartful of the bottled condiment, the cashier told her that the bargain had already expired and she has to pay a total of P4,370 for the items.
She then says, "Ay wow, now mo lang na-say? Go, go, go ka lang sa pag-scan?"
In her frustration, Rufa pulls out a gun out of the blue and proceeds to shoot the fish sauce bottles. She then grabs a sword from underneath her suit and engages in a duel with the cashier, who used an umbrella to defend herself. After Rufa seemingly beheads her, it turns out that it was all in her imagination.
She then utters a variation of her famous line in her 2009 romantic-comedy Status: Single, "Tanggap ko na... na mag-gigisa na lang ako ng gulay na walang patis."

Many netizens praised her for doing a skillful performance in the parody advertisement, with some even believing that it was a trailer for an actual project of hers.
Kill Boksoon premiered on Netflix on March 31. Directed by Byun Sung-hyun, the film also stars Sul Kyung-gu, Kim Si-A, Esom, and Koo Kyo-hwan, with a special appearance by Hwang Jung-min.
