Married by 25? Nope, Vanessa Hudgens says she’s no longer pressured by a timeline
There's no such thing as "too late" when it comes to the timeline of your life—and Vanessa Hudgens proves just that.
The 32-year-old High School Musical and Spring Breakers star shared with Shape Magazine that she once had plans to get married when she was 25, but fate had other plans.
"Where I am now is better than I could have dreamed of. My relationship with myself is something I value deeply, even if things don't always go the way I expected," she began.
Back when she was 25, Vanessa was in a longterm relationship with fellow actor Austin Butler. They were dating until 2020 when Vanessa was 31. Before that, the star was famously with fellow High School Musical co-actor Zac Efron.
"My mom got married at 25, so I always thought I was going to be married at 25. That didn't happen. But I'm in such an amazing, healthy relationship, so it doesn't matter,” she said, pertaining to her relationship with baseball player Cole Tucker.
“What I've discovered is that we all have these ideas — and if they don't happen, then there's a reason why. Learning that has been extremely helpful to my growth. I'm very grateful every day for where I am in this moment of my life," she added.
Though Vanessa is now taking her time with her own timeframe, she does see herself having kids one day. With her latest voice acting project in the upcoming My Little Pony movie, she sees it as a way to showcase her career to her future children.
"I cried when I saw it the first time... I'm excited to have it in my back pocket for when I have little kids."
