Can you believe that it’s already 2022?
As we welcome the new year, several K-pop and K-drama icons took to social media to share hopeful messages on what lies ahead. Some posted adorable selfies with a ton of finger hearts, while others decided to start the year by relaxing in their free time. Here’s a look at how some of our favorite Korean celebrities rang in 2022.

Even if they’ve been appearing in several year-end shows, Red Velvet looks stunning as ever as they wished their fans a “Happy New Year.” The girl group rang in the new year by performing at the SMTOWN Live Concert 2022 and MBC Gayo Daejun.
It looks like Squid Game actress Jung Hoyeon had a cozy New Year’s celebration. In her Instagram posts, Hoyeon posted snaps of what looks to be a fun road and food trip.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Rosé marked the end of 2021 by going on a girls’ night out dinner in a swanky restaurant. Both women appear to be barefaced as they enjoyed a yummy spread of truffles, sea urchin, and caviar.
Meanwhile, it seems like BLACKPINK’s Jisoo had a peaceful New Year’s celebration at home. Jisoo welcomed 2022 by posting cute selfies and heartfelt messages in Korean and English to her fans.
“The end of the year is here again! It's been a dream to spend another year together with my beautiful Blinks. I hope the new year brings nothing but happiness and joy to everyone! Here's to a new year full of unforgettable memories. I love you Blinks,” Jisoo said.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK’s Jennie hasn’t posted a New Year’s message on social media, as of this writing.
Squid Game heartthrob Wi Hajun rang in 2022 by making hearts melt in a set of selfies and a sweet message in Korean. “I’m so happy to receive so much love and support from so many people last year. I’ll continue to work hard to show you a good image [in 2022] as well.”

Like their labelmates Red Velvet, Aespa celebrated the New Year performing for fans at the SMTOWN Live Concert 2022 and MBC Gayo Daejun. The girl group took to social media to express their love for fans as they finished 2021 with a bang. “It has been a very meaningful year for us because MYs gave us a lot of support and love.”
