‘Nahanap na namin ‘yung sound ng SB19’: SB19 promises ‘Our Zone’ concert is a tribute to their growth as artists

For P-pop sensation SB19, performing at The Big Dome is a dream come true.

Even if SB19 feels “overwhelmed” about finally performing at the Araneta Coliseum, they promised their anniversary concert will be a tribute to their three-year journey.

“Noong una, ‘yung Get in the Zone, growing pa lang kami... Hinahanap pa namin ‘yung sarili namin, experimenting kung saan kami babagay at sa mga genres na gagawin. ‘Yung Back in the Zone naman, matagal kasi kaming nag-rest dahil sa pandemic, nabago ‘yung mga plano kaya ‘yun ang comeback namin. Pero itong Our Zone, ipapakita namin kung ano ‘yung nasa loob ng Zone,” Pablo said during a media conference on Tuesday, Nov. 23.

The “Get in the Zone” concert in December 2019 was supposed to be a nationwide tour but it was canceled due to COVID-19. “Back in the Zone” was a virtual concert that was streamed in August 2021.

Meanwhile, Stell revealed their upcoming concert feels like a celebration of their growth as a group and as individuals. “As a performer, sobrang nag-grow kami. Before, kapag nagpe-prepare kami, matagal kasi wala pa kaming tunog. Pero ngayon, nahanap na talaga namin ‘yung sound ng SB19, ‘yung identity, kaya alam na namin ‘yung kaya naming ibigay.”

Josh admitted that performing at the Araneta Coliseum—that witnessed concerts of the biggest names in music—is a dream come true for the group.

“Super overwhelming and happy kami na finally it's happening. Talagang makakapag-perform na kami sa Araneta. Before, nangangarap lang kami na sana ‘diba in the future, makapag-perform tayo sa stage na ‘to,” he said.

Even if the two-day concert will feature a live virtual audience, SB19 hopes it will be a moment to remember for fans. They also shared that they want to perform again at Araneta in the future.

“At least nandun pa rin kami sa stage na ‘yun and virtually mapapanood po nila kami. Sisiguraduhin po namin na worth it ‘yung gagawin naming performances. In the future, siyempre gusto namin ulitin ito at ipakita sa tao na live na live po sa harap namin,” Josh added.

SB19 also hinted at new arrangements and choreographies for their previous tracks, making sure that fans will witness something new. The group also revealed that they will be performing three unreleased tracks at the concert.

“We made sure na may makikita silang bago, hindi lang ‘yung previous na nalabas namin. ‘Yung mga bagong kanta, talagang ginawa namin siya for the third anniversary at nag-decide kami to perform it live first,” Pablo said.

SB19 debuted with Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken, and Justin in 2018 with the track Tilaluha.

The five-member group is set to wrap up their month-long third-anniversary celebration with their two-day concert “Our Zone” on Nov. 27 and 28 via KTX
