The official Final Fantasy VII Remake Sony Walkman is a rare collectible item that every FF fan will want to have in their real-life inventory. Yup, Sony is still cranking out Walkman systems in 2020!

The bad news for Philippine fans is that this gorgeous music device based on the game is being sold exclusively in Japan, and as of this writing, is entirely sold out.

Original Walkmans were first released in 1979 as portable cassette players. These days, Sony still uses the brand name for portable audio and music devices including feature phones.

According to the device’s official specs, the Sony Walkman NW-A105 Final Fantasy 7 Remake Limited Edition (NW-A105-FF 7) is actually an MP3 player, so don’t expect to play your old mix tapes or music CDs here. The device has a 3.6 “ 720p HD display, runs on Android 9 and supports Bluetooth 5.0 connection. The FF model has a capacity of 16 GB and accepts micro SD cards.

Specs aside, fans will probably want to get their hands on ths gadget just for the iconic packaging and design alone. The box features stunning artwork from the game while the back of the device features a classy etching of the Final Fantasy VII Remake title and logo. The device comes pre-loaded with a FFVII Remake background and the game’s official soundtrack.

The Japan exclusive was selling for around 40150 yen, or roughly over Php 18,000. That’s a lot of Gil and Moogle Medals combined. Despite the high price point, the item has already sold out, with no news yet on a second run or international release.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of the most highly-anticipated games of all time upon its release in April this year and is expected to be one of the biggest games of 2020. Square Enix has been unleashing various FFVII collectibles and merch on eager fans to hype the game, ranging from action figures, to replica clothing and jewelry worn by the characters in the game.

For the most hardcore collectors, obtaining this highly prized luxury item ranks at the same level as obtaining the Ultimate Weapon or earning all the possible trophies in the game.
