Screenshots and footage from the first teaser trailer of Trese, the highly-anticipated anime series based on the award-winning Philippine comic book, have surfaced online.

The official Facebook page of Trese Comics and excited netizens shared screengrabs from the first teaser trailer video released in the U.S., giving fans a look at what to expect from the show.

The original "New on Netflix" feature for June 2021 in the U.S. is region-locked, but fans were quick to reshare the footage and screengrabs via social media from the U.S. release.

Trese is also listed with a release date of June 11 in the U.S. streaming giant’s  “What to Watch” list for next month.

The upcoming anime series is based on the fantasy, crime-horror comic book created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. The story, which is set in Manila, follows Alexandra Trese, a detective who deals with crimes of supernatural origin in a city where mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding among humans.

Fans previously just got a sneak peek of Trese in a snippet reel of upcoming anime shows coming in 2021 last April with a quick shot at the very end of the minute-long video, but no release date was announced.

Following the clip's release online, Netflix Philippines’ shared a longer promo video for new shows streaming this June 2021, confirming that the original anime series would stream next month in the Philippines.

Netflix Philippines also shared a Filipino poem on their Twitter and Facebook account captioned "Tabi-Tabi po" teasing the possible release of a teaser or trailer at 9:00 pm tomorrow.

“Bukas ng alas nuwebe, sabi ng isang duwende: ‘Buksan ang iyong mata, talasan ang tainga.’ Mayroong hiwagang bumabalot sa patikim na paparating — Hindi mo pa natutuklasan, at maaaring hindi inaasahan. Wag kalimutang bigkasing ang mga katagang: ‘Tabi-tabi po,'” the poem reads.

Trese will premiere on Netflix on June 11, 2021.
