Guns N' Roses parts ways with drummer Frank Ferrer after 19 years
Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has left the band after 19 years.
On its social media pages, the American hard rock band announced Ferrer's departure as they thanked him for the "friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence" he shared with the group for almost two decades.
"The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey," their statement read.
"Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006, helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico," it added.
The 58-year-old seasoned drummer joined the band to replace Bryan "Brain" Mantia. Over the years, he became a steady fixture behind the kit, powering through some of their iconic tours.
Notably, he played a crucial role in the band's highly anticipated Not in This Lifetime... reunion tour from 2016 to 2019, reigniting the group's legendary energy across the globe. More recently, he showcased his drumming prowess once again during the band's 2023 tour, which spanned from June to November.
Guns N' Roses was formed in 1985 when local bands L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose merged. Its current lineup includes founding members Axl Rose, Duff McKagan and Slash, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese, and guitarist Richard Fortus.
They are best known for the hit songs Sweet Child O' Mine, Don't Cry, Welcome to the Jungle, and November Rain, among others.
