Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul to reprise roles in final season of ‘Better Call Saul’
It’s finally happening: Breaking Bad's Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are returning for the sixth and final season of AMC spin-off, Better Call Saul.
In a report by Variety, Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould announced that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who portrayed the meth-making duo in AMC’s Breaking Bad, will guest star for the final season of the prequel series.
During a panel discussion at PaleyFest LA, Gould officially confirmed that Cranston and Paul are returning for the series finale but refused to provide details about the crossover including how and when will they appear in the show.
“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould said during the panel discussion. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”
“If you can believe it, there’s more,” Odenkirk, who was part of the panel, teased.

Prior to this, Breaking Bad co-creator Vince Gilligan earlier confirmed Cranston and Paul's appearance in the prequel series during the premiere of Better Call Saul's final season, saying that “It would be a damn shame if the show ended without (Cranston and Paul) appearing, would it not?”
“These two worlds cross over in a way that you haven’t seen before, that’s for sure,” Gould added.
For his part, Better Call Saul actor Bob Odenkirk told Variety that he personally feels that the two shows “are entwined even more than ever in the final season. And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch ‘Breaking Bad’ again.”
Cranston first portrayed the role of Walter White in 2008’s hit TV series alongside Paul’s Jesse Pinkman.
White, a teacher and a chemist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, decides to manufacture crystal methamphetamine with his former student in a bid to pay for his medical treatment and save up for his family’s future after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Odenkirk, meanwhile, first appeared in the show as the duo’s criminal defense lawyer, Saul Goodman before starring in his own show in 2015.
His performance in Better Call Saul earned him four Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actor in a drama series as well as four Golden Globe nominations for best actor in a television series drama.
Last year, Odenkirk collapsed after suffering a “heart-related” incident while filming the final season of Better Call Saul.
The Breaking Bad prequel series will return for its sixth and final season on April 18, 2022.
