AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig are the first cast members of the fourth season of The White Lotus.

International media outlets Deadline and Variety confirmed that the two actors have been cast in the fourth installment, which will be set in France.

More details, including Michalka and Ludwig’s characters and the plot, are still under wraps, but like previous seasons, it will follow “a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week."

"Beyond honored. Huge thank you to Mike for your trust in me and can’t wait to bring this unbelievable material to life," Ludwig wrote in his Instagram post sharing the news.

Michalka previously played roles in movies and series, including Super 8, The Lovely Bones, Schooled, Hellcats, and Cow Belles. Ludwig, meanwhile, was part of the movies and series such as Vikings, Earth Abides, 2012 Hunger Games, and the Bad Boys movies.

This came a month after Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, confirmed that casting had begun. The production will reportedly start in the spring.

The last season was set in the Four Seasons Resort in Thailand. It was starred by Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and more.

The latest installment of the series earned 23 Emmy nominations, eight of which were for acting. The whole series has received 66 Emmy nominations and won 16 awards.

The fourth is created, written, and directed by Mike White, alongside executive producers David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
