Looking to get your hands on a new commemorative coin from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas?

The country's central bank has launched a 750-Piso silver non-circulation commemorative coin in celebration of 75 years of central banking in the Philippines, and it will be available on the BSP shop soon.

The coin's obverse side puts the spotlight on the Intendencia (also known as the Aduana building) in Intramuros, Manila, which served as the first headquarters of the Central Bank of the Philippines.

The other side meanwhile showcases the markings of the year "1949," a 75th-anniversary logo in color, the inscription "CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF CENTRAL BANKING IN THE PHILIPPINES," the BSP Seal, and the year "2024."

Made from 99.9% silver, each coin weighs 1 troy ounce and has a diameter of 38.6 millimeter.

The collector's item will be available for sale starting on Sept. 2 at 1 p.m., and you can purchase it through the official store of the BSP. The coin would cost P7,500 if you want it to come in acrylic packaging, and P8,200 if you want it to come in special wood packaging.

Apart from the 750-Piso coin, the BSP is also selling a 100,000-Piso Centennial commemorative banknote in celebration of the recently concluded National Heroes' Day. Its obverse showcases the Sigaw ng Pugadlawin led by Andres Bonifacio in 1896, while the reverse features the proclamation of independence led by Emilio Aguinaldo on June 12, 1898, in Kawit, Cavite.

Measuring 8.5 inches by 14 inches, the paper money is accredited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest legal tender note, per the BSP. Only 1,000 pieces of the commemorative banknote were printed.
