Arci Muñoz, Korean actor Kang Donggun team up in new film 'Sweet Escape'

From the makers of the first Filipino-Korean collaboration film, You With Me, another Fil-Kor film is about to unfold as Arci Muñoz and Korean actor Kang Donggun will join forces in the upcoming film Sweet Escape.

Produced by RR Entertainment Production and helmed by Rommel Ricafort, the story follows the characters of Muñoz and Kang, Candy and Dave, respectively, who fall in love with each other amidst their search for freedom.

In the trailer released on the production company's Facebook page on Wednesday, Feb. 14, the two showered passionate sentiments for one another before being confronted with their previous secrets.

"Sharing to the world a glimpse of a heart-warming story between two people yearning for freedom as they run away from their dark past," the caption read.

Filipino actors, including Matet de Leon, William Lorenzo, and Ayeesha Cervantes, are also part of the movie.

Details such as the premiere date and where to watch it have not been announced yet.

Aside from Sweet Escape, Muñoz also showed acting prowess in various local TV and film projects, including Open (2019), Pasión de amor (2015) Last Fool Show (2019) and Isa Pa with Feelings (2019). 

Sweet Escape is the second full-length Filipino-Korean collaboration film of RR Entertainment Production, following the film You With Me starring Kim Hyun Woo, Jin Ju Hyung and Devon Seron in 2020.

In December last year, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) unveiled Sweet Escape as among the selected grantees for the Project Development and Post-Production Fund of CreatePHFilms Cycle 1 & 2 of 2023. These also include films such as Bago Maglaho ang Gabi, Pamilya sa Dilim, and Midnight Crisis, among others.
