For some, being on a lockdown is the perfect time to work on their massive video game backlog. But if you are among those people who have nothing else to play with because most of the game releases have been postponed, then you might want to read this exciting news: Sony Interactive Entertainment is giving away free games in response to the pandemic.

In a blog post, Sony president and CEO Jim Ryan announced that as part of their Play At Home initiative, PlayStation 4 owners can download copies of the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free on PS Store starting today until May 5, 2020. Once you’ve redeemed the copies from the PS Store, they’re yours to keep.

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection includes the first three games in the franchise: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - all of which have been remastered for the PlayStation 4.

“During these days of physical distancing, fans have turned to gaming for moments of respite and enjoyment. At Sony Interactive Entertainment, we are privileged to bring this much-needed entertainment. We know this is just one small step and we are thankful to be able to offer this support to our players, our communities, and our partners,” Ryan said.

Meanwhile, Sony has also earmarked $10 million as part of the initiative to support independent game developers amid the pandemic.
