WATCH: Sandara Park and iKON’s Jinhwan cover Iñigo Pascual’s ‘Dahil Sa’yo’

As a sweet Christmas treat to their fans, K-pop stars Sandara Park and Jinhwan of iKON did a cover of Iñigo Pascual’s hit song Dahil Sa’yo.

Sandara posted on Instagram a photo of her and Jinhwan, also known as Jay, in their fun holiday outfits and announced in the caption: “Surprise!!! Christmas gift from me and Jay. Dahil Sa’yo (Iñigo Pascual) cover by Dara and Jay from iKON. Hope you guys will like it! Merry Christmas!”

The cute video, which Sandara uploaded on her YouTube channel, DARA TV, on Dec. 24, has now over 150,000 views.

Many were surprised that Jinwha sang in perfect tagalog but fans on social media pointed out that he lived in the Philippines for seven months more than 10 years ago. He also comfortably speaks in Bisaya, which he showed during a guesting at Arirang Radio in 2017. Some speculate that he lived in Cebu, while some say he lived in Davao.

Sandara’s fans and iKON’s fandom iKONIC made “Iñigo Pascual,” “Dara,” and “Dahil Sa’yo” trend on Twitter.

Iñigo Pascual commented on Sandara’s video on YouTube and said, “Merry Christmas Ate Dara!” And followed it with another comment an hour later with “Jay and Ate Dara, making this song so much better… Merry Christmas!”
