Weekend Watchlist: ‘Love and Monsters,’ ‘The Nevers’ and more

Looking for something new to watch this weekend?

Netflix just released Love and Monsters this week, which offers a fun and upbeat family-friendly adventure comedy set in a "monsterpocalypse."

Over on HBO, there are loads of new offerings as well including a month-long special in honor of the Game of Thrones Iron Anniversary and a new science fiction drama series The Nevers, about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities.

Here are some of the most recently released films and series on streaming sites that you can add to your watchlist this weekend.

Love and Monsters

Synopsis: Seven years after he survived the monster apocalypse, lovably hapless Joel leaves his cozy underground bunker behind on a quest to reunite with his ex. Starring Dylan O'Brien, Jessica Henwick, Michael Rooker.

New Gods: Nezha Reborn

Into the Beat

Ride or Die

Synopsis: Rei helps the woman she’s been in love with for years escape her abusive husband. While on the run, their feelings for each other catch fire.

My Love: Six Stories of True Love

Synopsis: Six longtime couples in different parts of the world share their decades-long love in these tender portraits filmed over the course of one year.

Why Did You Kill Me?

The Nevers

Emma

Synopsis: Jane Austen’s beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending, is reimagined in this film adaptation of EMMA starring Anya Taylor-Joy.

Made for Love

Synopsis: A woman is on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to a tech billionaire, who has implanted a monitoring device in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her and know her "emotional data" as she tries to regain her independence.

Game of Thrones (Seasons 1 to 8)

Synopsis: Celebrate a decade of Westeros with Seasons 1 to 8 of Game of Thrones, including cast interviews, behind the scenes clips and more.

Seobok

Synopsis: This 2021 South Korean sci-fi action film directed by Lee Yong-ju and starring Gong Yoo, Park Bo Gum and Jang Young-nam revolves around a former intelligence agent Gi-heon, who gets involved with the first human clone, Seo Bok. The film is currently showing on VivaMax, iWant, Sky pay-per-view and KTX.
