'Batang Quiapo' to end on Mar. 13 after three years
FPJ's Batang Quiapo will soon come to an end after three years.
In a social media announcement, ABS-CBN confirmed that the action thriller series starring Coco Martin will conclude on Mar. 13, while a new primetime block will launch on Mar. 16.
Batang Quiapo, which began in February 2023, follows the story Tanggol (Martin) as he navigates life in the district of Quiapo in Manila while rising among the ranks of his neighborhood's most dangerous criminals.
Its main cast includes Christopher de Leon, John Estrada, Ejay Falcon, Cherry Pie Picache, Miles Ocampo, Maris Racal, Jake Cuenca, Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez, Charo Santos, and more.
During the March 8 episode of ASAP, Martin shared a message to fans who supported the show for three years.
"Gabi-gabi po sinamahan niyo kami sa inyong mga tahanan. Punong-puno ng pagmamahal at suporta po ang binigay niyo sa amin," he said.
The actor also thanked the cast and crew who worked on the series. "Pinaghihirapan namin ang show. Sa lahat ng mga Pilipino, kayo po ang dahilan kung bakit patuloy kaming lumalaban. Ginagawa po namin ang pinaka-best namin para mapaglingkuran at mapasaya kayo."
ABS-CBN also shared new shows that will be part of its primetime lineup starting March 16, which include The Alibi starring Kim Chiu and Paolo Avelino, mystery drama What Lies Beneath, K-drama Love Scout, and C-drama Forbidden Flower starring Jerry Yan.
Martin won't be away from your TVs long, as he's set to return for Sigabo alongside Julia Montes. The media network, however, noted that the premiere date for the series will be moved to a later date.
Before Batang Quiapo, Martin also starred in a long-running action teleserye, Ang Probinsyano, which was on air for seven years before its conclusion in 2022.
