'Have you seen 'Space Jam 2?'': Hwang Dong-Hyuk claps back at LeBron James' criticism of 'Squid Game' ending

Remember when LeBron James said he didn't like the ending of Squid Game? The Netflix hit's director Hwang Dong-Hyuk dunked on the Los Angeles Lakers star's criticism, saying "Have you seen Space Jam 2?"

Hwang said this in jest, of course, and told The Guardian that he respected the four-time NBA champion's thoughts on his show.

While catching up with teammate Anthony Davis on Oct. 14, James said Gihun should've gotten on the flight to see his daughter instead of going after the people behind the game.

"LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending," he said.

"If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, 'I liked your whole show, except the ending.'"

James saw the Squid Game creator's statement and tweeted "This can't be real right??!! I hope not ??????????"

Space Jam 2, the first movie the 17-time All-Star had a leading role in, didn't get great reviews from critics as it scored a 2/5 rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.1 out of 10 from IMDB. However, it did rake in $170 million at the box office.
