‘He was an angel on this planet’: Viola Davis, Lupita Nyong'o, and more stars remember Chadwick Boseman a year after his passing
A year after Chadwick Boseman's death, celebrities and co-stars pay tribute to the Black Panther star, sharing fond memories on social media.
Boseman, who is most known for playing T'Challa a.k.a. the Black Panther, died of colon cancer last year at the age of 43. He was diagnosed in 2016 but kept his condition private.
Black Panther co-star Lupita Nyong'o shared a photo with Boseman on Twitter, expressing how she misses his presence.
“I did not know that I could miss both his laughter and his silence in equal measure,” Nyong’o wrote. “I do. I do… One year after his passing, the memory of @chadwickboseman remains this alive in me.”

Meanwhile, Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, posted a photo from the film, which was the late actor's last. Boseman received a posthumous Golden Globe win as well as an Academy Award nomination for his last role.
Marshall co-star Josh Gad shared his tweets of the final texts he got from Boseman. "Not a day goes by one year later, where it doesn’t still hurt,” Gad tweeted. “But in the darkness, he always reminds us of the light. He was an angel on this planet and is now a Saint on high. Love and miss you more than ever… forever.”
