TikTok Now, an app for sharing slice of life photos and videos, is available for download
Overwhelmed with the many videos on TikTok? A new app is out for users who just want to share photos and videos with their friends: TikTok Now, the short video platform's answer to BeReal.
In this app, users get to casually share moments from their day, kind of like how Snapchat and BeReal work.
The way it works is the app will ping you with a daily prompt at random moments to post. Then, you're given a limited time, typically three minutes, to capture what you're doing using your phone's front and back camera. You can post either a static photo or a 10-second video on the app.
In addition, you'll only be able to view your friends' photos and videos when you post to your feed.
TikTok Now comes with some privacy features like users can control whoever can view or engage with their content. It also comes with age restrictions:
- Posts from those under 18 will not be shared to the Explore Feed
- Those under the age of 16 will have their TikTok Now account private by default
- People aged between 13 and 15 will have commenting options limited to friends only
This is the TikTok Now app on-boarding.

BeReal works similarly to TikTok Now, prompting users with a notification to share a photo once a day.
