With a few episodes left before Supergirl's season 6 finale, the term "Supergirl is gay" trended online as fans clamor for the show to finally make "Supercorp" canon.
For those who aren't familiar with the series, Supercorp is a ship between Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), a.k.a. Kara Danvers, and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). Since the two characters were introduced in season 2, they've become best friends but fans have been hoping that their relationship would blossom into something more.
Kara and Lena's relationship has been a major focus of the show for quite some time now (and the subject of many Supergirl fanfiction). Last season, their relationship was strained when Lena went on a supervillainy road after discovering that Kara was secretly Supergirl.
In season 6, the two mend their fractured relationship and fans are hoping the show will finally make the romance between Supercorp canon.

Others are calling for the show to stop queerbaiting and just confirm the romance brewing between Kara and Lena. Queerbaiting is when TV shows, movies, and other media hint at same-sex romance or LGBTQ+ representation, but do not actually confirm or depict it onscreen.
Kara and Lena are meant to be. The ship name is literally written in the script. Stop queerbaiting and make them canon! SUPERGIRL IS GAY! pic.twitter.com/rXkZtiPm21— Myrto (@kaleluvers) October 18, 2021
Fans are also sharing moments from the show that could be evidence of their relationship.
Why did the camera cut to Lena when Sam asked Kara if she's seeing anyone? Why did it cut to Kara when Brainy asked Lena what love feels like? Because they're in love! Because they're meant to be together. Because they are endgame!

According to the show itself, Kara gives off a sapphic vibe. All we ask is that you confirm in the final season what everyone started suspecting in season one, that SUPERGIRL IS GAY. At this point, you have nothing to lose anyway. pic.twitter.com/aL6jmHxwvR— Myrto (@kaleluvers) October 18, 2021
