'X Factor' contestant Danny Dearden dies at 34
X Factor star Danny Dearden has died. He was 34 years old.
In an Instagram post, his manager Denise Beighton announced the sad news as she shared some of her fondest memories with the late artist.
"Heartbroken to wake up to the news that you're gone. I have no words right now. [R]est easy beautiful boy," the caption.
The cause of Dearden's death was not specified. However, his last IG post showed a cup of hot chocolate from the hospital with a text that read: [Costa] Coffee #HotChocolates #thebestthingsinceslicedbread
Spice Girls singer Melanie Janine Brown a.k.a. Mel B, who was Dearden's mentor on the show, paid tribute to him via an IG story.
"Tragic news hearing Danny Dearden has passed. [I] remember him back in his X [F]actor days and how talented you always were but also how kind to everyone," the singer wrote.
She added, "Sending love to anyone who knew Danny."
Dearden didn't make it to X Factor's live shows as he was eliminated early on when he joined it in 2014.
During his career, he gained more than 15 million streams and had over 30,000 monthly listeners on the streaming platform Spotify. He became known for the songs Come Down and Different Kind of Love, among others.
