The Pokémon games, like their weird and wondrous creatures, have slowly but surely evolved over the last two decades.

From a gameplay of simply discovering and catching different kinds of Pokémon, battling tough gym leaders, and exploring regions in a linear route, the games have since started transitioning into the popular open-world format that many Pokémon fans have been dreaming of for a long time.

The company's newest titles, Scarlet and Violet, are the first Pokémon games to genuinely be open-world, where you're finally left to your own devices to explore the vast world of Pokémon while accomplishing most of the game's quests in any order that you like.

The Pokémon company is celebrating the games' release until Nov. 27 with a hands-on experience of the gameplay, a special pop-up store, and a meet and greet with Pokémon at the ground floor of the Midtown Atrium in Robinsons Manila.

If you failed to catch the event, there's no need to worry as the Pokémon meet-and-greet event will continue in select Robinsons Malls this December.

Catch Pikachu and the gang in Robinsons Magnolia on Dec. 10 to 11, Robinsons Metro East on Dec. 17 to 18, and Robinsons Las Piñas on Dec. 24 to 25.

You can expect to have a wild encounter with larger-than-life Pokémon inflatables including the franchise's electrifying star Pikachu, the new starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and the Filipino lechon-inspired creature Lechonk.

There will also be a dedicated Pokémon Goods Corner organized by Toys R Us in ten different branches across the Philippines, where you can get your hands on the coveted Pokémon video game, toys, trading card game, and other official products.

It will be located at Robinsons Manila, Galleria, Magnolia, Metro East, Las Piñas, Galleria South, Antipolo, Iloilo, Galleria Cebu, and Bacolod.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were released worldwide on Nov. 18 for the Nintendo Switch console. The games have sold over 10 million copies in their first three days, making them Nintendo's biggest launch of all time.
