Jamie Lee Curtis returns for 'final' battle against Michael Myers in 'Halloween Ends'

Horror icon Jamie Lee Curtis and Michael Myers are returning to the big screen for one 'last' scare this Halloween season.

Universal Pictures just dropped the official trailer for their upcoming horror slasher film, Halloween Ends, the third and final part of their modern Halloween trilogy.

The trailer shows that Michael isn't here to give any treats or play any tricks. Rather, he's here to enter into a brand-new killing spree as he faces off against his greatest enemy Laurie Strode, played by franchise star Jamie Lee Curtis more than four decades after she starred in the original 1978 film. The role is one of the longest actor-character pairings in cinema history.

Halloween Ends serves as the conclusion to 2018's Halloween and 2021's Halloween Kills, and the 13th movie overall in the long-running franchise. To recall, the previous films revolve around Laurie and the entire town of Haddonfield being haunted by the embodiment of evil after he had escaped from a mental hospital.

Now, four years later, Laurie is currently living with her granddaughter and only surviving family member Allyson and is busy writing her memoir. As Michael disappeared after his massacre, Laurie finally decides to set herself free from fear and rage and embrace life.

However, the peaceful moment soon becomes short-lived when a young man named Corey is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting. What follows is a cascade of horror that will force Laurie to end the unstoppable evil once and for all.

Forty-four years after the original 1978 film written and directed by John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis returns as the franchise's heroic final girl once more. She is accompanied by Andi Matichak, Rohan Campbell, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, and James Jude Courtney.

Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween Ends is set to premiere in theaters on October 14.
