‘Buzzfeed Unsolved’ is releasing its final seasons of True Crime and Supernatural this year
Case closed.
The end of an era is coming as the Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej-helmed Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural and Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime will be releasing its final seasons this year.
The eighth and final season of True Crime will premiere on June 18 on their YouTube channel, while its Supernatural counterpart will have a September release for its seventh and final season.
Since Unsolved’s first episode in 2016, Bergara and Madej have delved into discussing and investigating popular real-life crimes and exploring widely-haunted locations all over the world. They’ve totaled over 1.3 billion views and amassed an online cult following.
They’ve also gained popularity for their signature narrations, as Madej remains a skeptic on the supernatural front while Bergara is more on the exploratory side.
“We were truly fortunate to have the opportunity from BuzzFeed to make this show,” Bergara said in a statement. “I can’t even begin to describe the appreciation I have for all the support we’ve received from this fanbase that has allowed us to pursue this dream and our passions.”
"I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to give both series, ‘True Crime’ and ‘Supernatural,’ a proper sendoff that will hopefully serve as a satisfying goodbye to the fans and the team that helped make this show what it is," he added.
Meanwhile, Madej shared that “none of this would have been possible without the passion of (stan groups) Shaniacs and Boogaras. This will be one thrilling final year for the fans as we dive into our favorite, most-requested crimes and mysteries."
The upcoming last season of Buzzfeed: True Crime will have six new episodes on their most-requested cold case files, including the deaths of Princess Diana and Superman star George Reeves.
