Gypsy Rose Blanchard announces split from husband 3 months after prison release

Gypsy Rose Blanchard announced that she and her husband Ryan Scott Anderson have called it quits, just a few months after her release from prison.

PEOPLE Magazine reported on Friday, March 29 that she confirmed their split in a post on her private Facebook account. "People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou," she wrote.

"I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find who I am," she added.

Gypsy and Ryan tied the knot in July 2022 in a jailhouse ceremony.

The breakup news came three months after Gypsy's release from prison. She served seven years of her original 10-year sentence for plotting the murder of her mother, who subjected Blanchard to multiple and “painful” medical procedures for made-up illnesses and treating her like a “prisoner.”

In 2015, Gypsy urged her ex, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, Claudine Blanchard.

Her case became a sensation and has been adapted into multiple television series and documentaries, including HBO’s 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, Hulu’s miniseries The Act, and an upcoming docuseries, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Gypsy was released from prison in December after being granted parole in September.
