FIFTY FIFTY's Keena takes hiatus following PTSD diagnosis
FIFTY FIFTY's agency, ATTRAKT, has confirmed that member Keena is currently on hiatus due to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The announcement follows a report by Dispatch on May 9 detailing the singer's struggles after a recent legal confrontation.
According to the report, Keena's PTSD allegedly stems from a face-to-face interrogation with An Sung Il, the CEO of The Givers, which took place on April 15 at the Gangnam Police Station.
The 22-year-old idol had previously filed a complaint against An in August of last year, accusing him of forging private documents and using forged private documents related to the copyright of their hit song Cupid. Specifically, she alleged that An fraudulently registered only 0.5 percent of the Cupid copyright under her name.
Accompanied by her lawyer, Keena reportedly confronted An Sung Il during the interrogation at the Gangnam Police Station.
The report also claims that after the two-hour encounter, Keena's mental well-being significantly deteriorated, with her experiencing severe PTSD symptoms, including vomiting, auditory hallucinations, insomnia, and a loss of appetite.
Keena informed ATTRAKT of her condition, leading to the decision to temporarily suspend her activities to prioritize her health.
In response to the report, ATTRAKT released an official statement confirming Keena's situation.
“Keena recently underwent a face-to-face interrogation with An Sung Il. Afterward, she reported experiencing both mental and physical distress and showed symptoms of PTSD. We have decided to temporarily halt her activities in order to prioritize the artist’s health,” they wrote.
This news comes shortly after FIFTY FIFTY's comeback on April 29 with their third mini album, Day and Night. Keena has been unable to participate in any scheduled activities since.
FIFTY FIFTY—a five-member South Korean girl group composed of Keena, Chanelle Moon, Yewon, Hana, and Athena—debuted in 2022 with their EP The Fifty. They are known for their viral hit single Cupid.
