Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, took to Instagram to break their silence about what they had been through over the past two years.

Without mentioning specific details, the couple indirectly referred to Baldoni's lengthy legal dispute with his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively.

In December 2024, a few months after their movie came out, Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, claiming it led to a hostile work environment during the production of their movie. Later, she accused Baldoni of retaliation through a social media smear campaign targeting her. Baldoni vehemently denied all claims and filed a countersuit.

On May 5, 2025, they agreed to settle their dispute.

With his wife beside him, Baldoni decided to address his millions of followers on Thursday, focusing on a message of gratitude.

"We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it's not because we haven't had anything to say, because Lord knows we have," Baldoni began. "It just didn't feel like it was the right time."

"Gratitude has saved us," he continued.

Emily clarified the feeling did not discount the recent negative experiences their family went through.

"In that gratitude, it doesn't negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years," she said. "And we've had to wrestle with so many things in trying to understand so many things, like how can something like this even happen, let alone disguise as a fight for women. So much to unpack."

Baldoni explained their silence throughout their legal ordeal was intentional.

"There have been so many...painful things that have been spoken into existence—'untruthful,' Emily interjected—over the last couple of years, and that created so much noise. We didn't want to add to the noise. We just wanted to let the justice system run its course," said Baldoni. Emily added, "And the truth and the facts have spoken for themselves."

"We are healing. And if you've ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn't linear; it looks different every day," said Baldoni.

He then shared how the experience strengthened his and Emily's faith, and showed them "what is real."

"It's our kids, our family, our friends, our community who have been there for us," he said.

"There were so many of you who, when we didn't have a voice, were our voice," the actor continued.

"One thing we have learned, when God presses the reset button and when everything else is stripped away, that's when love shows up," he added.
