Marina Summers reveals she has started her transition journey
Marina Summers has begun a new and meaningful chapter.
In a heartfelt message on her social media accounts, the drag performer revealed that she had already started her transition journey to become a woman.
Marina first opened up about how she "always felt feminine" ever since she was a child.
"For so many years, I poured that energy into carving a life that required me to move at full speed. Becoming the person I've always seen myself as felt like something I'd get to 'later,' something I gently pushed to the side while I tried to catch every other dream first," Marina said.
"But last year, I finally gave myself permission to stop pausing. And start my transition. After years of questioning and pushing back, I finally made the beautiful decision to begin social transitioning early 2025," she added.
She detailed that she has now started her Hormone Replacement Therapy, which she regards as "one of the best things that has ever happened to me." This is a medical treatment that helps transgender people develop physical traits that align with their gender identity.
According to Marina, she wanted to keep the first part of her transition journey with her innermost circle only as she "really needed space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in my own skin without the outside noise."
"And now, I'm ready to open the door a little wider and let you all into my journey. To everyone who knew me as Yan or Adrian, it's been amazing. But that chapter of my life is happily closed. From hereon, I'd love for you all to get to know me more as the woman I'm becoming," she highlighted.
While she acknowledged that she still has so much to learn, the one thing she is sure of is that she wants to be more honest with her fans and herself.
"Thank you for the love you've shown me so far. Thank you in advance for the kindness and respect you continue to offer. This chapter means the world to me, and I'm happy to finally share it with all of you," Marina ended.
She accompanied her message with stunning pictures of herself wearing a beige ruffled gown.
Marina is best known for competing on the first season of Drag Race Philippines and the second series of RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World.
