#TheWeightIsOver: Hidilyn Diaz and Julius Naranjo share romantic pre-wedding video on Instagram
The long wait is over for Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and coach Julius Naranjo.
Diaz and her coach-trainer are all set to tie the knot in Baguio on July 26, the first anniversary of Hidilyn's historic gold medal win in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Ahead of their wedding, Naranjo took to Instagram to share a cinematic pre-wedding video which featured the couple’s Olympic journey through the years.
The three-minute long video gave netizens a brief glimpse of Diaz and Naranjo’s bond and chemistry while training for the Olympics before moving on to romantic scenes of the couple enjoying each other’s company under the warm sunlight and natural sceneries around the Philippines.
In the caption of the Instagram post, Naranjo expressed his gratitude for the support and understanding that he shared with Diaz.
“I have been through a lot these last 5 years and I’d be lying if I said our journey was easy. Whether It’d be chasing a [gold medal] in the Olympics, to discovering Malaysia through the pandemic, one thing has been a constant,” captioned Naranjo.
“That is our ability to understand and support each other through thick & thin. When it comes to your Ride or Die, every one of us finds it at one point of our lives."
"So here we are, and here’s to forever,” he wrote adding the hashtag #TheWeightisOver.
In a separate Instagram post, Diaz shared more throwback photos celebrating their triumph along with news about the wedding.
"Today marks the first anniversary of our winning the Gold medal in the @olympics for the Philippines. And today also will be a memorable day for @imjulius and me, we will get married today. #TheWeightIsOverJNxHD".
