Heads up, ARMY: BIGHIT MUSIC confirms BTS is going to enlist in South Korea's mandatory military service.

On Monday, October 17, the supergroup's talent agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, released a statement regarding the mandatory military enlistment for Jin and all of the BTS members.

"BIGHIT MUSIC is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service." the company stated.

"As each individual embarks on solo endeavors, it's the perfect time and the members of BTS are honored to serve," the company added.

The announcement comes after BTS's oldest member, Jin, has withdrawn his plea to postpone his military service to December 31. It also follows the K-pop boy group's successful concert in Busan last Saturday, Oct. 15, for South Korea's bid to host the World Expo in 2030.

“Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment,” HYBE-owned Bighit Music said in a separate statement.

BTS debuted in 2013, with members Jin, Suga, J-hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. This year, Jin will turn 30 years old in Korean age.

With the announcement, Jin is expected to enlist in the military soon after he receives his notice. The other members will also follow once they receive their notice as well.
