'Bittersweet': Robi Domingo loses his grandmother on his wedding day
Robi Domingo shared that his wedding was bittersweet as he later learned that his grandmother passed away on the same day.
The TV host took to his social media accounts to pen a tribute to his late grandmother and post a photo of them together.
"January 6 was the happiest day of my life. My heart was filled with immense gratitude—from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn," he shared.
As they were about to leave, Domingo's mom broke the sad news.
"My mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning. Apparently, my family didn't tell us so that our focus was our magical day."
Domingo fondly called his grandmother "Ina," and said she took care of him when he was younger. "I loved how she made her ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera," he said.
The TV host also apologized for his and Maiqui Pineda's delay in thanking those who attended their wedding as they're still "taking a breather" from the events.
Celebrities like Jai Agpangan, Darren Espanto, Martin Nievera, Vina Morales, and more sent their condolences to Domingo and his family via Instagram.
On January 6, Domingo and Pineda tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Bulacan.
