'What do you do for a living?': Nadine Lustre, Christophe Bariou featured in TikToker Daniel Mac's new video
Nadine Lustre and her boyfriend Christophe Bariou were the unexpected subjects of content creator Daniel Mac's most recent video.
Mac, who has 2.8 million followers on Instagram, makes his content by asking strangers driving luxury cars what they do for a living.
Standing on the curb at what looked like the Power Plant compound, he flagged down a passing Mercedes Benz 280S, which he tagged at $130,000. It was being driven by Bariou with Lustre sitting shotgun.
"What do you do for a living?" Mac asked as Bariou turned off the vehicle's engine to hear Mac better.
"I just live and surf on an island for a living, honestly," Bariou replied.
"You know what, you should ask her," he added, gesturing to Lustre.
Mac did, and Lustre replied, "I'm an actress," without revealing her name.
"Welcome to Manila," she added after Mac said he was just visiting the Philippines.
"Are you a big actress?" Mac asked Lustre.
"I guess. I do movies and I used to do TV," Lustre replied.
Still unaware about Lustre's celebrity status, Mac prodded her to say more. Lustre then mentioned starring in comedy-drama Call Me Mother, released last December. The movie was a 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
Mac then asked if Lustre had any advice for aspiring actors.
"Success doesn't happen overnight. Don't chase the spotlight, but rather chase the work," Lustre said.
Mac then shifted his attention to the vehicle.
"You guys have a crazy car here," he said, asking the couple if they were car enthusiasts.
Lustre shared, with her dad being a mechanic, she grew up appreciating luxury cars, though she doesn't know how to fix them.
Mac pulled Bariou back into the conversation and exclaimed how cool it was that they surf, as well.
"I would just want to support her. But for me, I just live on the island. I have a resort, but that's pretty much it," Bariou replied.
After confirming to Mac that they were dating, Bariou added, "Don't worry, I didn't know who she was also the first time I met her."
"Forgive me if you're a massive actor and I didn't know," Mac said, waving goodbye.
"Insanely humble for how famous she really is," he wrote in the caption.
Lustre went “Instagram official” with Bariou in January 2022, months after they sparked dating rumors in August 2021.
