'Badjao Girl' Rita Gaviola reveals that she is now a mom
Rita Gaviola, more popularly known as "Badjao Girl", revealed that she now has a bundle of joy in her life.
In a recent Instagram post, Gaviola shared the joy of motherhood as she posted a picture of her newborn baby girl, Kia, together with her non-showbiz partner in a photoshoot.
Some social media users, however, were not so supportive of her new blessing, saying that it might affect her career. Gaviola responded to these comments in another Instagram post.
"Sabihan ninyo lang ako masasakit na salita. Kahit laitin niyo ako, okay lang sa akin. Basta wag ninyo lang idamay ang anak ko, tatanggapin ko lahat ng masasakit, wag lang anak ko," she wrote in the caption as she shared a close-up picture of her beautiful baby.
Many of her fans and followers took the time to post supportive messages following the news.
"Don’t mind them. Whatever you do may masasabi talaga yung tao. As long as the baby is well taken care of and wala kayong ina-agrabyadong tao then that’s fine. Best of everything to you as you experience this amazing gift of motherhood!" one user wrote.
Another one commented, "Focus on your health muna, recover physically, emotionally, mentally..and of course kay baby. Don’t waste your energy, iha. Motherhood is a lot but Im sure with your partner beside you, you can do it!"
Gaviola first rose to popularity after a picture of her begging during the Pahiyas Festival went viral. She captured the public's attention because of her striking facial features, skin tone, and physique comparable to that of a model.
She then joined the reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in 2016 along with the show's winner, Maymay Entrata. Afterwards, she became a contestant in "Showtime Sexy Babe", a segement of the noontime show It’s Showtime, where she emerged as a daily round winner.
