When 'Runners' meet the boxer: Manny Pacquiao to appear in 'Running Man Korea'
From running for the top political position in the country to running in South Korea’s top variety show, former senator and world boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is confirmed to appear on Running Man to meet Korean viewers and fans.
According to News1 Korea, Pacquiao will guest on SBS’ long-running variety show as part of his promotional tour in South Korea for a special match against martial artist D.K. Yoo on December 10.
The former senator is scheduled to arrive in South Korea on October 10 and start filming for the show on October 11. His episode is expected to be aired on October 23.
This will be a mini-reunion for the boxing champ and Korea’s “nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk and singer, rapper and host Haha after he visited them on their previous show Infinite Challenge last 2017.
Pacquiao is also reported to guest on JTBC’s Knowing Brothers and meet South Korea’s very own “Korean wrestling champion” Kang Ho Dong and former professional basketball player Seo Jang Hoon.
Running Man is an internationally acclaimed that has been running for more than a decade, consisting of 615 episodes starring Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Jeon So-min, Yang Se-chan and former members Lee Kwang Soo, Kang Gary and Song Joong Ki. The cast or “runners” join fun and exciting games and challenges in exchange for prizes.
The show previously guested famous stars such as Ryan Reynolds, Tom Cruise and Jackie Chan as well as star athletes Park Ji Sung, Chu Sung-hoon, and Ryu Hyun-jin
Last September, GMA Network launched its local adaptation of the show, starring Glaiza de Castro, Ruru Madrid, Lexi Gonzales, Kokoy De Santos, Angel Guardian, Buboy Villar, and Mikael Daez.
