The 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal ended on a high note with the romance film I'mPerfect bagging the coveted Best Picture title.

Centering around the romantic relationship of two adults with Down syndrome, the film's main star, Krystel Go, took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Jessica. It was also honored with the Special Jury Prize for Best Ensemble.

In her acceptance speech, Go got teary-eyed as she expressed her gratitude for the award.

"'Di po ako makapaniwala, nanalo po ako. Mommy and Daddy, para sa inyo ito. Best Actress na po ako," she said before thanking her co-actors as well as the crewmembers of the film.

Maraming-maraming salamat po," she added.

For the Best Actor category, the honor went to Vice Ganda for his portrayal of a queer mother in the comedy-drama film Call Me Mother.

After giving his thanks, the It's Showtime host couldn't help but get sentimental as he highlighted how this was the first time he had ever won a Best Actor award at the MMFF.

Usually, alam kong magaling akong magsalita eh. Hindi ko alam anong sasabihin ko kasi I don't usually prepare my speeches, especially ngayon," he said.

But tonight, maaari na," he added.

He went on to highlight the film's message towards the LGBTQ+ community.
