R'Bonney Gabriel bumps into Gloria Diaz while shopping in fabric store
Two queens in one screen!
Miss Universe 2022 titleholder R'Bonney Gabriel delighted her fans as she shared her casual run-in with the Philippines' first Miss Universe winner, Gloria Diaz, while shopping for some fabrics.
On her Instagram account, the beauty queen and fashion designer revealed that she is starting a new collection for her creations and decided to go to the fabric store to get some ideas.
"I figured if I come here, I'd get more ideas and then build my designs off of what is available," Gabriel explained.
After getting some fabric swatches, the clip then shows Gabriel having an unexpected meeting with Diaz, and the two of them began to exchange pleasantries in Tagalog.
"You're from USA," Diaz asked.
"Tatay ko Filipino at nanay ko American," Gabriel answered, to which Diaz said, "Oh wow, that's interesting."
The Miss Universe 1969 winner then told the younger beauty queen, "I’m gonna take a picture and show my BFF."
After they parted ways, Gabriel appeared to be starstruck at the surprising run-in with Diaz, saying, "Just running into Gloria Diaz—the first Miss Universe from the Philippines—here in the fabric store. I don’t even know how to act anymore. I think I’m done shopping."
Gabriel returned to the Philippines back in April for work engagements under her new talent agency, Empire/Mercator. She recently served as one of the hosts of this year's Miss Universe Philippines coronation night together with Alden Richards, Gabbi Garcia, Tim Yap, and Jeannie Mai.
Despite her busy schedule, she is still making some time to explore the Philippines. As shown on her social media accounts, she has been enjoying local street foods, trying the "tawad" practice when she shopped in Divisoria, riding a jeepney, and more.
