'The Queen's Gambit' star Anya Taylor-Joy ties the knot with Malcolm McRae—report
Anya Taylor-Joy reportedly tied the knot with Malcolm McRae in a star-studded wedding in Italy.
The Daily Mail first reported the news on Oct. 2. The wedding was held over the weekend at the centuries-old Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Italy.
In the photos exclusively shared by the outlet, Anya was seen on the balcony donning a custom beige Dior gown with floral and bird embellishments with a long veil.
According to the report, the couple’s lavish wedding was attended by 150 guests, including notable celebrities spotted at the affair such as model and actress Cara Delavigne, Inventing Anna star Julia Garner, Nicolas Hoult, and Miles Teller.
The two first met at the premiere of Anya’s award-winning Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. Days after, Malcolm shared on Instagram his self-composed song dubbed, Really Want To See You Again for Anya.
“I wrote this song for Anya two days after meeting her," Malcolm wrote in his caption. "It’s called Really Want to See You Again.”
"I know that I'm high now, but I've gotta get this out. I think we're alike in ways that I can't quite explain right, but I might, could with some time, if ever we were in the same place,” Malcolm sang in the clip. “I want what's right, but I want without warning now, and I think we're wanting something the same."
Dating rumors sparked between the two in May 2021 when they were spotted kissing in New York City. Malcolm made it “Instagram official” in October 2021, sharing mirror photos of them all-smiles while holding hands.
Interestingly, the two also share the same birthday on April 16, with Malcolm born in 1994 and Anya in 1996.
“Happy birthday to us baby. Thank you all for your love,” the actress wrote in an Instagram post in 2022.
Anya is an actress who scored nominations and recognitions in prestigious award-giving bodies like Golden Globes, British Academy Film Awards or BAFTA Film Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards. She starred in acclaimed series and films The Queen’s Gambit, The Witch, and The Menu.
Her husband Malcolm, meanwhile, is a member of a duo rock band called More*.
