Constance Wu announces she's pregnant with second 'Filipinese' baby

Constance Wu is expecting her second child with her Filipino-American boyfriend, Ryan Kattner.

The Crazy Rich Asians star announced the news in an Instagram Story on Feb. 22, with a photo of her baby bump and the caption, "Bun in the over. Filipinese baby #2 coming soon."

Constance, 40, referred to her second child as "Filipinese," as she is born to Taiwanese parents while Ryan is half-Filipino.

Prior to Constance's second pregnancy, the couple welcomed their two-year-old daughter in August 2020. The actress has been known to be hush-hush about her private life and only confirmed that she gave birth to her first child to People in December of the same year.

She further talked about her daughter and touched on her boyfriend's nationality during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2021. 

"I had a beautiful baby girl in August. She's the best, she's the best. She has a full head of hair. She has a blue butt," she said.

According to People, Constance's daughter has a "Mongolian spot" or a condition wherein a flat blue-is birthmark appears on a baby's skin during their first few weeks. 

"Apparently, it happens in a lot of Asian babies, and my boyfriend and I are both Asian," Wu said.

The actress had her breakthrough role in the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat prior to her first big break in cinema through 2018's Crazy Rich Asians. She is also popular for starring in the 2019 film Hustlers.

Ryan, meanwhile, is the frontman of the alternative rock band Man Man, where he goes by the stage name Honus Honus. 

Before entering into a relationship with Ryan, Constance was dating actor and independent filmmaker Ben Hethcoat. He and the actress called it quits in 2018.
