Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste has quashed rumors that Kris Aquino had passed away days after the new year rolled in, stressing that he is currently with the actress in the US.

In the comments section of a news outlet's post, where it shared a screenshot of a fake Facebook post that claimed Aquino died on January 03, Leviste clarified that the television host is "very much alive."

"Kris is very much alive—we’re together now in Orange County. Whoever came up with this fake/false news is foolish, selfish and idiotic!" Leviste wrote under the post.

Responding to other users' comments, the local politician stressed that Aquino is trying to stay strong in her battle with her multiple autoimmune diseases.

"Thank God that she’s alive, and trying her best to heal. So instead of spreading false information and malicious intent, let’s just keep praying for the strength, recovery and well-being of Kris," he wrote.

Moreover, Aquino's attending nurse, Mike Alayon, had recently shared a collage of pictures showing the actress alive in her home, together with Leviste and her oldest son Josh.

The Queen of All Media has been staying in the US since June 2022 to get treatment for her autoimmune illnesses, which she said has now been reduced to just three from the previous number of five.

Leviste and Aquino first sparked dating rumors in January last year, after the politician shared an Instagram post revealing that they welcomed 2023 together, with him calling her "the Queen" in the caption.

They have since been in an on-and-off relationship, with Aquino announcing that they have split once again due to the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship.
