From producing chart-topping hits and bagging luxury brand endorsements, K-pop girl group NewJeans is out to make waves in yet another industry: mobile gaming.
The group, which debuted in July of last year, has just been confirmed by Riot Games to perform the anthem of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, titled GODS.
It was announced earlier today, Sept. 27, via the League of Legends official X account, with a short caption that says, "Introducing your #Worlds2023 Anthem: 'GODS' ft. @NewJeans_ADOR."
The song is slated to drop on the League of Legends YouTube channel on Oct. 3, 10 p.m. (Pacific Time) and Oct. 4, 2 p.m. (Korea Standard Time).

For those who aren't familiar with the event, League of Legends World Championship is a professional e-sports tournament organized by Riot Games, where 22 teams from all over the globe compete in a months-long battle for the title, the 70-pound Summoner's Cup.
A huge cash prize is also at stake, with this year's amount reportedly falling between $2.25 million (P142 million) and $3 million (P171 million).
For this year's leg, the League of Legends World Championship, also known as "Worlds," is set to take place from Oct. 10 to Nov. 19 in Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
