Gypsy Rose Blanchard welcomes daughter on first anniversary of her prison release
Gypsy Rose Blanchard welcomed her baby a year after her release from prison.
Blanchard and her beau Ken Urker welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, on Dec. 28 at 9:49 a.m., which also marked the first anniversary of her prison release in 2023, her representative confirmed to PEOPLE Magazine.
Urker announced the arrival of their little one on his New Year's Day post on Instagram, sharing a picture of him and Blanchard holding and looking lovingly at their newborn.
“Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” he captioned his post.
Blanchard announced her pregnancy via her vlog in July 2024. In November, she confirmed that her pre-birth paternity test results showed that the father of her child is Urker, and not her estranged husband Ryan Anderson, whom she broke up with in March. Their divorce was finalized in December.
In 2015, she urged her ex, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, Claudine Blanchard. She served seven years of her original 10-year sentence for plotting the murder of her mother, who subjected her to multiple and “painful” medical procedures for made-up illnesses and treated her like a “prisoner.”
Blanchard was released from prison in December 2023 after being granted parole in September of the same year.
Her case became a sensation and has been adapted into multiple television series and documentaries, including HBO’s 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, Hulu’s miniseries The Act, and an upcoming docuseries, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
