Amanda Seyfried, Thomas Sadoski end 9-year marriage
Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have separated after nine years of marriage.
In their joint statement shared with PEOPLE Magazine, the couple announced their marriage had ended "for a while" now.
"We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We've got each other forever—and it's GOOD," Seyfried and Sadoski wrote in their statement.
The announcement came just hours after Seyfried shared a photo of Sadoski on her Instagram Stories, showing an iguana relaxing on his shoulder and captioning it, "@thomassadoski is #reptiledad."
They are parents to two children, Nina, 9, and Thomas Jr., 6.
Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, first met when they starred together in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By in 2015. Later that year, they again worked together in the film The Last Word, where they portrayed love interests.
In March 2016, they began dating and were engaged by September. A year after they became a couple, Seyfried and Sadoski quietly eloped.
"We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing," Sadoski said in reports after their elopement. "It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other."
It was the first marriage for Seyfried, who recently starred in the mystery film The Housemaid, and Sadoski's second. The actor was previously married to Kimberly Hope, a studio executive, for eight years until October 2015.
Days after Seyfried and Sadoski got married, they welcomed their daughter Nina. In September 2020, their son Thomas Jr. was born.
The couple has been largely private about their family life, though Seyfried occasionally shared clips and photos of their routine with their animals on their farm in upstate New York.
In 2023, Seyfried and Sadoski made a rare red carpet appearance together for the premiere of Seyfried's thriller miniseries The Crowded Room.
The year before, Seyfried gave a shoutout to Sadoski in her 2022 Emmy acceptance speech, thanking him after she won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the drama miniseries The Dropout.
