Kim Chiu shares 2023 recap video that included ex-boyfriend Xian Lim, says the year tested her faith

Kim Chiu shared a recap video of her 2023—including some snaps of her with her ex-boyfriend Xian Lim—as she shared how the year tested her faith.

The video, uploaded on her social media accounts on Jan. 4, included a slideshow and snippets of her on- and off-screen such as behind-the-scenes from her shows, her modeling shoots, her vacations, and quality time with loved ones.

The video also showed her shedding tears on-air and some photos with Lim, with whom she was in a relationship for 12 years. They confirmed their breakup in December.

“So many things can happen in a year, and 2023 was an example for me,” Chiu said in the caption. “365 days of emotions, up, side, down. It was an intense year of personal growth.”

She noted the year had a lot of learnings, wins and losses, and she couldn’t gather all of her emotions, which she said felt overwhelming.

“[S]o many sentimental moments, breakdowns, and breakthroughs,” Chiu said.

She thanked all the “amazing people” she worked with and those surrounding her with whom she became friends.

“I am grateful for all the trust and opportunities given to me. I am thankful for the highs and also grateful for the lows,” she said.

Chiu told her followers that life comes by surprise and is a test, and it’s up to them how they’ll walk through it.

“Stop for a while, cherish every moment, and think about what was,” she said. “To everyone who supported me along the way, please know that I am deeply thankful, and I appreciate each one of you.”

She mentioned the programs she was in last year, including the reality television show Dream Maker, drama series Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen, and thriller series Linlang. She also mentioned the upcoming local adaptation of South Korean drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.

“I am forever grateful. #2023, you are differently amazing,” she said. “#2024 , please be more amazing!”
