Philmar Alipayo has spoken out about the controversial viral TikTok video involving him and content creator Crissa Liaging.

The champion surfer shared his side of the story through Boy Abunda on May 31.

“What happened was uminom si Philmar, had a friendly conversation with this girl on the video and that’s it, sabi ni Philmar and ni Andi,” the host said.

Abunda furthered that the couple shared they initially laughed off the viral video, but what bothered them was that “it was edited and uploaded to create an issue.”

This comes after Andi posted a cryptic Instagram story indirectly calling out the now-unavailable viral video.

“He can go out with his friends, go drinking every once in a while, and chat with whoever he wants. No harm in that,” Andi wrote in her now-expired story on Monday, May 27.

“What's shameful is purposely posting and editing a video to cause a stir, disturbing the peace of people and dragging them into their negativity, just for some social media attention,” she added.

For her part, the original poster and the woman in the video Crissa denied the rumors surrounding her and Philmar via a TikTok video.

“Hindi totoo ang inyong iniisip at hindi totoo ang mga naglalabasang issue sa social media. Alam ko na mali ko, ako rin ang naglaglag sa aking sarili,” she said in Bisaya.

The TikTok user also acknowledged her fault for not keeping her distance from Philmar, but she stressed that they were not flirting in the posted video.

“Walang flirting na nangyari dahil nasa public place kami. At hindi ko rin ma-please si Philmar the way siya tumingin at mag-act sa akin. Ang mali ko lang talaga, hindi ako dumistansya,” she explained.

Crissa reiterated that Philmar has his own family and admitted she got “overwhelmed” because she did not expect him to know her.

Andi and Philmar first went public in 2018. They got engaged two years later and share two kids Lilo and Koa.

The two have an upcoming feature for the special segment of My Mother, My Story which is set to be released on June 9.
