Claudine Barretto postpones fan event after anorexia relapse
Trigger warning: This story contains mentions of eating disorders and mental health struggles.
Claudine Barretto's fan event has been moved to February 2026 after a health relapse.
In her Facebook post, the actress disclosed that she had a relapse from anorexia, prompting her to cancel the get-together with fans, supposedly set to take place on Dec. 16 and 17.
“Dec. 16 & 17 were supposed to be a big day for the #Claudinians, but due to my relapse from anorexia, we have decided to postpone our big get-together & move this to February," she wrote, sharing an old video of herself singing Pasko Na Sinta Ko.
"I promise it will be worth it. Know that I love you all and we will get through this relapse like before," she added.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, anorexia nervosa is a mental health and eating disorder marked by extreme calorie restriction to maintain very low body weight, often resulting in malnutrition and, though not always, a severely low BMI.
In 2023, Claudine opened up about her weight loss journey, where she was able to lose 84 pounds in just two months by doing intermittent fasting, an eating pattern that switches between eating and fasting.
Last August, she revealed she was hospitalized for depression. In 2024, she admitted that she voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation facility for "post-traumatic stress disorder."
