Simu Liu now engaged to girlfriend Allison Hsu
Shang-Chi and Barbie star Simu Liu is now engaged.
The actor took to social media to announce his engagement to his non-showbiz partner Allison Hsu.
"From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always," he captioned a photo of him and Allison, who works for Interscope Records, sharing a sweet kiss in front of floral and candle arrangements.
Based on Allison's post, Simu popped the question in Paris, France. She also shared photos showing off her new ring and a sweet moment they had with the moon and the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop.
"Us forever," she wrote, adding emojis of a ring and white hearts.
Celebrities and fans congratulated the couple upon their announcement.
"Congratulations!!" commented John Legend.
"AHHHH HOW AMAZING! Sending love to you both," said Florence Pugh.
"Allison marrying [Shang-Chi] ALERTT," added Renee Rapp.
Simu and Allison made their red carpet debut as a couple in December 2022 at the 20th Annual Asian American Awards. They also went to the 2023 Barbie premiere together.
In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, the Shang-Chi star shared what he loved most about his now-fiancée.
"She's a badass, she's a fighter, and she's very, very passionate about all things in life, her work, her job, and her other things. And that's a language that I speak very well, and I am happy to see where it goes."
Simu, a Chinese Canadian actor, is known for starring in Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Kim's Convenience, Barbie, Jackpot! and Women Is Losers.
