Cesca Litton reveals breast cancer diagnosis: 'You really never think it could happen to you until it does'

Published Apr 01, 2025 1:04 pm

Cesca Litton opened up about undergoing chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

On her Instagram account, the former television personality posted a video compilation showing moments where her nearest and dearest visited her in the hospital, as well as pictures of her shaved head.

In the caption, she detailed that she was diagnosed with the disease in December.

"December was a whirlwind of tests and consultations, until the biopsy results confirmed the big C," Litton began. "I don’t think I ever really gave myself time to process, I just shifted into 'act now, feel later' mode."

Litton underwent mastectomy in January, which is a surgical procedure to remove all breast tissue to address breast cancer, and has now started her chemotherapy treatment.

She's been spending time with her friends and family since her diagnosis.

"This whole time I’ve been working, trying to keep my life and routine as normal as possible, and also, because I can," Litton said, describing herself as an "extremely hardheaded and stubborn" person.

"I wanted to keep this quiet, but there was no point in hiding it anymore once I started losing my hair," she continued. "That pixie cut lasted two and a half weeks until my hair started falling out in clumps. I decided to just shave it off, I have a wig ready for work purposes, and a growing collection of scarves and turbans."

She went on to express her gratitude for her loved ones for being there for her every step of the way.

"This is really meant to be a tribute to a support system that has gone above and beyond for me despite my best attempts at downplaying what I’m dealing with," Litton highlighted. "My circles have made their presence felt in so many ways and the support has been overwhelming."

"Thank you for showing me I don’t have to go through this alone. Thank you for praying so hard for me that I can actually feel myself being held up by prayers," she added.

Litton stressed that her story is "far from over" as she still has "things to do, places to see, mountains to climb, and love to give back."

She ended her post by emphasizing how "early detection is key" when it comes to cancer, saying, "You really never think it could happen to you until it does, so please stay on top of your check-ups."

In the comments section, many of her celebrity friends took the time to shower her with words of encouragement, including IC Mendoza, Aubrey Miles, Rica Peralejo, and more.

Litton previously served as the host of the now-defunct ABS-CBN TV shows SNN and E-Live.
