GOT7's Jackson Wang pens supportive message to BamBam amid mental health concerns

Jackson Wang showed his support for his fellow GOT7 member BamBam amid rumors that the latter is currently facing some mental health troubles.

On his official account on X, BamBam posted a link to a YouTube video of Justin Bieber's song Changes, which appears to talk about how someone is "going through changes" and moving on from their complicated past.

Jackson then typed in a response to his band member's post and offered some words of wisdom.

"People closely around us specially the industry. The only thing they care about is living their life like you are living yours. Different intentions. It’s facts, it’s reality," the rapper and singer wrote.

"We all go through it, just different aspects. Don't take it negatively, sometimes just gotta be more selfish and get things right for yourself. It’s not always a bad thing," he added.

Jackson went on to encourage BamBam to remain true to himself.

"We all have choices. Make them Bam. Be at a place where you get appreciation. Don't forget who you are. Love you for who you are," he underscored.

In a separate reply, he wrote, "One more thing, Bam, your audience loves you, you're the reason. Not anything else, Not the people, team, label, partners, or anyone else..."

While BamBam has yet to reply to his message, many fans applauded Jackson for showing concern over his bandmate and encouraging him to keep going amid tough times.

"Thank you so much, Jackson! We love you both and we wish you both nothing but happiness! We got your back always," one user commented.

Another wrote, "Aw can I say I cried a little reading this. We love you for who you are too. Both of you! If running is tiring sometimes then walk a little, stop and smell the flowers and play with your friends a little. Walk your own pace. Sending you two loads and loads of love always."

Jackson's message comes after BamBam had been sharing updates about his life that have left his fans in a worrisome state over his mental and physical health.

The singer admitted during his solo show in Manila last September that he has been feeling more "unhappy" in the last few days.

"I feel like the more you grow up, the happy days keep getting less... I'm gonna say I feel unhappy more than I feel happy these days. I just wanna be honest because you guys are the only people that I can talk to," BamBam began.

"You guys are the only people that I can lean to. That's why I really wanted to express my feelings to you. But if this world [is] not gonna allow me to be so happy, at least I want to give my energy to you guys so y'all can be happy more," the Thai rapper continued.

He asked his fans to stay positive for his sake before baring that he has "a lot of things going on" in his mind right now.

"The only place that I feel free and I feel like happy these days is meeting you guys on stage, so the stage is like a playground for me right now. When I'm by myself, I kinda think a lot so I appreciate you guys coming out here and having a good time for me," he highlighted.

"Y'all energy today means so much to me so I appreciate you guys. Thank you so much. Please be happy. Too fast to live, too young to die. Past is history. Future is mystery. Today is [a] gift. Live today like [it's] your last," he ended.

Other celebrities who reached out to show support are Fly to the Sky‘s Brian Joo, who wished "nothing but the best" for BamBam, and Jessi, who commented, “We love you bambam.”

BamBam visited Cebu and Manila in September for his solo tour "BamBam (BAMESIS) SHOWCASE TOUR." He has more shows this October in Jakarta, Hong Kong, and Mumbai.
