Taylor Swift deletes 'Lavender Haze' explainer video referencing ex-BF Joe Alwyn

Seems like Taylor Swift just don't wanna stay in that lavender haze anymore. The American singer-songwriter appears to have deleted the explanation video of the track about her relationship with English actor Joe Alwyn weeks after their reported breakup.

According to Billboard, eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that the explainer for Lavender Haze, the opening track of her latest album Midnights, doesn't appear on her Instagram page anymore.

In the video posted in October 2022, Swift said she happened upon the phrase when she was watching television series Mad Men.

“I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love," she said in the now-deleted video.

“I guess theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud,” she added.

Swift noted how people in general and not just public figures like her, become the subject of scrutiny online when they're in love with somebody.

“Like, my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it," she said. "This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”

Entertainment Weekly also reported that Swift removed the link in her bio that pointed users to the song, and was replaced with a link to her official website.

Video explainers for her other songs like Anti-Hero and Snow on the Beach haven't been deleted.

Entertainment Tonight on April 8 broke the news about Swift and Alwyn ending their relationship after six years. The breakup, which happened a few weeks before the report, was said to be "amicable" and "not dramatic."

A source said their relationship “had just run its course.” It’s also the reason why Alwyn hasn’t been spotted in Swift's recent shows.

An April 10 report from PEOPLE, meanwhile, cited how they've had "rough patches before and always worked things out," but just "weren't right for each other." Insiders also said Alwyn "didn't like the limelight," and reportedly struggled with Taylor's level of fame.
