Jessy Mendiola fulfills childhood dream of learning ballet: 'When I was younger, we couldn't afford ballet classes'

Jessy Mendiola is chasing one of her childhood dreams at 31.

The actress recently posted a mirror selfie where she can be seen in black leotards and ballerina shoes on Instagram as she recalled not being able to afford ballet classes in her yesteryears.

"I've decided to chase an old dream of mine. When I was younger, we couldn't afford ballet classes. I remember watching other kids in their ballet outfits during a class at a dance studio in a mall in Makati. I kept telling myself 'One day, magagawa rin kita,'" she wrote in the caption.

Jessy went on to say that "it's never too late (or I'm never too old) to start something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid."

"Here's to trying new things no matter how old (or late) you are, the most important thing is that you are happy and you are still willing to learn after all these years," she said, adding that she "can't wait to dance" with Rosie—her first child with Luis Manzano.

Jessy and Luis announced that they welcomed Rosie in January 2023.
