In love with ‘A Business Proposal’ actress Seol In-ah? Check out four of her most iconic works

The “best friend” is usually one of the most well-loved characters in a K-drama, but they remain underrated by fans—and we can’t blame them! Best friends are usually written as side characters who support their besties—most of the time, the leads—a hundred percent. Many of them usually disappear as the plot progresses with no significant storyline. Thankfully, there are K-dramas that give the best friend roles the spotlight they deserve.

Take, for instance, A Business Proposal’s Jin Young-seo (Seol In-ah), who plays as the ever-supportive BFF of the protagonist, Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong).

In the drama, Young-seo begged her Ha-ri to go on a blind date with Kang Tae-mu (Ahn Hyo-seop) because she doesn’t believe in an arranged marriage. The plan worked out since she found love with Tae-mu’s chief of staff Cha Sung-hoon (Kim Min-kyu), and ended with a ring on her finger.

The K-drama rom-com showed In-ah in her comedic and emotional best, proving she’s an actress to watch out for. If you’re a new fan of the actress, we list down four of her most iconic K-dramas to check out.

Mr. Queen

In-ah put her sageuk or Korean historical series skills to the test with Mr. Queen. The actress took on the role of Royal Consort Jo Gwi-in, the concubine and first love of King Cheoljong (Kim Jung-hyun). While Gwi-in is based on a real-life historical figure with the same name, she gave her character a well-deserved arc. The concubine may have caused a tragic incident in the palace well, but she eventually changed for the better at the end of the series.

Sunny Again Tomorrow

In-ah also took a lead role in the family series Sunny Again Tomorrow. She starred as the headstrong Kang Ha-nee who’s determined to make it as a career woman despite being a high school graduate. Ha-nee makes it in the corporate world, of course. By the end of the series, she founded a fashion company and became the CEO. You go, girl!

Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life

Is it just us or In-ah deserves a lead role? If you’re not convinced, maybe Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life can help you. The rom-com revolves around three different families, with In-ah starring as career woman Kim Cheong-ah. Her character is a selfless woman who inspires her family to change for the better amid the game of deception in the neighborhood. Cheong-ah might have been bullied as a kid yet she has the heart to forgive those who’ve wronged her in the past.

School 2017

Did School 2017 just foreshadow In-ah and Se-jeong being besties in A Business Proposal? We may never know. But the actress got in touch with her emotional side as high school student Hong Nam-joo. The girlfriend of Song Dae-hwi (Jang Dong-yoon), she pretends to come from a rich family due to being ashamed of her family’s financial situation. The truth eventually comes out, but she’s still accepted by her friends. Aww.
